Biography

I am a first-year PhD student in Informatics at the USI, advised by Professor Piotr Didyk at the Perception, Display and Fabrication Group. I am working on the ERC Starting Grant supported PERDY project. Prior to starting my PhD, I received a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from KAIST, South Korea.

I am broadly interested in various aspects of human perception; especially the mapping of sensory data from the eyes into our low-level interpretation of visual reality. My current work is focused on understanding how the human visual system compresses/processes visual information from the physical world, and using this understanding to perceptually optimize the real-time graphics pipeline for future virtual-reality displays.
