Biography

Raspollini Katia is a PhD student at the Institute of Italian Studies (ISI). Her research focuses on the teaching/learning of Italian L2 addressed to low schooled or illiterate learners and on cognitive and applied linguistics. She is currently working on the project: "The prognostic validity of entry tests for illiterate adult migrants: a linguistic-cognitive analysis". She graduated in Linguistic Sciences and Intercultural Communication at the University for Foreigners of Siena in 2014 and at the same university she obtained a Diploma of Specialisation in Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language in 2012. She has been teaching Italian as a second language since 2008 in a migratory and university context since 2012 and has deepened her study of illiterate learners with two thesis works: "Illiterate foreigners: monitoring and teaching/learning Italian as a second language in adult education centres (CTP)" 2012 and "Comparing language skills: from surveys on the skills of Italians to the survey of the skills of foreigners in Italy" 2014
